We can assume the test kit you have has the capability to check pH, TA, and total chlorine up to about 5 ppm. The test kits we recommend have the ability to test those and CH (hardness), CYA (cyanuric/stabilizer level), CC (Combined Chlorine), and FC (Free Chlorine up to 50 ppm or more). Those become key when aligning CYA and FC together for sanitation as you'll see on the Chlorine/CYA Chart in my sig below. You can always order the "FAS-DPD" portion separately from TFTestkits.com to augment what you have to test the FC and CC separately. That same site also has the "speed stir" which is a fantastic tool to help mix everything.
