My skimmer has multiple cracking after winter. Water level was always below skimmer. I think maybe water might have been trapped inside the housing somehow? It is hydrotools abs wide mouth made in China. I also used a butterfly gasket instead of the too piece it came with. Pool was new in August. Anyone can suggest better skimmer please. Hayward is $46 at Amazon (it's wide mouth). Thanks.

What is the brand of that skimmer box? You'll have to see if Hayward will fit it or not. I have a different skimmer box that isn't the same as Hayward. I'll have to go see what mine is but I do know the screw holes don't line up because I wanted to replace mine with the Hayward skimmer box. I believe just about everything is made in China now a days.

a quick google search gave me the two manual links here. It LOOKS like you may have a winner here in terms of screw placement / location, but I'd want to double-check. Got a pool store near you that has one in stock? Might be worth a stop to compare, even if you end up purchasing online.

From personal experience, the Hayward skim units are much better made than the stuff that gets imported from China.

That's the one I have banditig. Hayward skimmers do NOT line up.
