heat pump installation

We're nearing the end of a pool install. The heat pump was placed today and is a Jandy. I'm used to a gas heater and the one at our old pool needed and had a 'fireman's switch' for the timer to shut off the heater 20 minutes before the pump to allow a cooldown of the heater.

This heatpump book says nothing about such a switch. Do heat pumps not need the same cooldown process?

No.

The heatpump has a built in flow or pressure switch and will stop when it senses no or low flow.
