Wier really needed?

The PB installed a Skimsaver Lid'L'Seal (Link here) on my skimmer. Due to the fit of it, they didn't put the wier in the skimmer. After looking at it tonight, I think I could get the wier to fit in the holes as the holes are partially covered by the Lid'L'Seal.

Is it really worth the effort to mount the wier if I run the pump 24x7? Any advantages to the wier?

The wier flap really turbo-charges your skimmer by creating that little waterfall. Someone posted the physics a while back but it basically increases the flow. Plus it acts as a one way door for gunk when you shut off your pump or Dad does a cannonball.

If you can fit it in, I would put it back.
