New Pool in Central CA

Kim, the dark top soil will be used for shaping, and adding landscaping mounds around the pool and the rest will be used as fill in a low section of our property. I still could use more dirt too!! Last year a pool excavation company dumped 100 truck loads of dirt and I could probably use another 100.

Here is some of the progress that has taken place over the last week or so. We had an inch of rain last week that set me back a few days but I think it's going well. Steel is scheduled for Wednesday. I still have the pressure test to finish today and install forms for the waterfall prior to steel.

Rebar was installed yesterday in 6 1/2 hours! Passed steel and bonding inspection this afternoon so now just waiting for gunite contractor to schedule. He said he might be able to shoot it tomorrow but I haven't heard back yet. I would like some feedback on the Pentair Globrite lights. I have 5 in the shallow end but want to make sure that is going to be enough light. I placed them all facing away from the house.

It's been over a month since gunite. I have been pretty busy with work so I haven't spent as much time as I would have liked, but I feel pretty good for where it's at in the construction process. I know how I enjoy looking at other peoples pictures so I thought I would add some to give everyone an update that cares to look or follow along. I have only had about 7-8 good work days since gunite but here ya go

Start of gunite back on April 22nd. It's a good thing I looked at this picture because I just noticed one of my bonding wires coming off the rebar cage got covered up by the gunite! So I guess I know what will be at the top of the list for tomorrow. I looked through the rest of my pictures just to make sure no more were covered.

This is where my stress level went up!! An hour after the gunite crew left it started pouring for about 30 minutes.

I bought a water meter so when it comes time to fill the pool I will know exactly how many gallons it is, and it should also be easy to see if I have any leaks in the future.

Waterfall will start next week so I'll add more pictures after that.

It's been a long time since I've posted any pictures of progress on the pool! I have had a busy last year with work and family so I haven't completed the pool yet. Last week marked a year ago that I broke ground on my pool and I was hoping to have this project well behind me by now. So I have many pictures of the progress so enjoy!

That was worth waiting for! SO much work has been done! WOW!

LOVE the boulders! Forget rocks those are BOLDders LOL

LOVE the waterline tile-BLING! What color of grout will you use?

I bet there was a lot of  and  connecting all of the equipment! Glad it was not me trying to figure it all out!

Looks like you might be able to swim in the summer this year! Looks like someone has already been playing in the pool CUTE!
