Good product + Good installer = Happy pool, as far as I can tell.
I have a lantham liner that was well-installed 15 years ago.
I do have a friend who told me he replaced his original good, lasted 12-years-til-tree-fell liner with a discount one that failed within four years...so my sense it that your choice of mfg and installer makes a difference here. So see if you can get referrals from people in your area.
