How far can i set up pump?

Hello all

I bought a new filter system for my 21ft round pool last season. Its a hayward. I love it. I have had hoses hooked up to ut but now for this season i wanted to do pvc piping. I have a 1.5 hp motor i want to know if i set ut up three ft away from pool would i need a stronger pump right now i had it set up next to pool dont like the hoses. Any information would be great.

I can't imagine you having any difficulties with a 1.5 HP pump supplying adequate pressure to your pool from 3' away. Many other 1.5 HP owners have their equipment pad much farther than that and do just fine. At some point though, it would be good for you to add your pool (or proposed) pool type and equipment to your signature for easy reference. If you're not sure how to do it:

Also, please add your pool info to your signature by going to the top of the TFP web page (just under the Pool School button) and select "SETTINGS". On the next page look to the left for a menu bar that says, “MY SETTINGS” and go to "EDIT SIGNATURE" to enter your pool and equipment info there. It will help us later. No problem, you could set it up 30 feet away and it would be fine. Congrats on the new pump!
