Advice on upgrading old pump

Hi,

I have an old looking pump, poorly installed with wires hanging out and this plastic and wood mickey moused cover to keep rain off of it I guess.... It's a 220v single speed motor attached to a STA-RITE Self Priming pump

STA-RITE Model AT251001-01

Flotec U27-1220 220v 6.7amp .75KW HP 1

Can I just get a 2-speed motor and bolt it to the STA-RITE pump or should I replace the entire thing? Recommendations?

I think the pool is 20K gallons.

I'm looking for a cost effective way to reduce electricity use.

Thanks

A quick look for a 220v 2-speed motor for STA-RITE and not having much luck. I see single speed and 115v 2-speed and complete pump with motor and basket. Do I need to stick with a motor made for STA-RITE or can you pretty much get any motor to fit?
