Plaster Scrape Repair Options

The plaster on my pool bottom was scraped by an umbrella base that the wind blew into the pool. It caused two small cosmetic gouges about 1 square inch in size. Is there any way to repair the damage without draining the pool?

There are a few epoxies that will work under water. You could pick some up at your local pool supply place. They dry to white/off white if your looking something with color you add a little food dye to the mix.

It will likely be difficult to get a decent color match using the underwater epoxy. I would live with it or drain the pool and plaster it to get the best (but not perfect) match.

My PB has fixed some minor cracks in our black plaster with underwater epoxy two times. He gets white and black and mixes them together to match the black plaster, which is really dark gray, not black. The first time he got an almost perfect match and you couldn't see the repair. Second time not so much, the repair is lighter than the plaster and is fairly visible. But, the epoxy works great under water and holds up fine. The first repair was done in 2012 and it is still good.
