What are these pool jets for?

My pool has a SPA spillover, so I am wondering what these jets are for as I have not noticed any activity from them. I have assumed that they are for the the pool heater (which I have never used) but just checking to be sure.

What is the diameter on those? If they are 4-6" then they are probably the water source for your waterfall pump.

Edit: now that I can zoom in on the pic I retract my original idea, they are not suction inlets for the waterfall pump.

My guess is that they are inline with your waterfall. I have something similar with my laminar jets.
Turn on your waterfall and put your hand over one to see if there is any water coming out.

They are not suction inlets. They should not be specific to the heater. Can you post a more general picture of the pool and equipment?

I have an infloor system (paramount) and those jets are to push debris towards floor of the pool

They are about an inch in diameter and I thought the waterfalls were fed by one of the drains. I have 4 drains + 1 that appears to be for the Zodiac Caretaker II Leaf Trapper system (in floor cleaning system).

James, I will post a picture of the pool equipment in the morning....thanks

As will notes, they could be wall returns that go to the cleaning system. They might be on a zone and only have action as that zone is on.

Thanks Will, that must be it! Since the in floor cleaning system has not worked in a while (blinking red light), that would explain not seeing any activity from those jets. Now on to trouble shooting the cleaning system....
