How do i turn my pump to waste to vacuum all the stuff off bottom.

I am slamming my pool and it has a lot of winter debris in the bottom. I scooped up the large stuff and after the shock is done want to vacuum the bottom but not clog my DE filter. I have a Pentair DE filter with a slide back flush valve. Is there a way to send the water to waste without flushing it backward through the filter?

Just from the description of your plumbing I would say no. You would need a waste outlet somewhere between the pump and filter to do what you want to do, or replace the slide valve with a multiport valve. If you post a photo of your equipment pad we may see another possibility.

From the looks of it i will have to add in a tee and a valve to do the waste. If i backwash doesnt that just reroute to the inside of the grids and that would not be good, correct?

Correct, That would be a mess. You would want to tee (with diverter) somewhere between the pump and the filter.
