I've kept my pool open as cold winter continues. With these long spells of below freezing temps I noticed the pump would shut off, for about ten minutes, then back on for 30 -40 minutes then off 10 minutes, etc.
is this normal? It's fine with me, saves some power and still keeps pipes from freezing.
when it only gets below freezing for short times, couple hours at night then back up during the day, like most of the winter here in NC I shut power off completely so freeze protection doesn't even turn on, but this cold spell is suppose to last several days
