Intelliflow VS Pump Cover - a good idea?

The fan blows from back to front, so that cover won't block the cooling. It will have to be modified to fit around the electrical connection, and it will have to be removed any time you need to access the controls to program it or manually turn the pump on/off or change speeds. I just used a storage bin from Home Depot and a ulitily knife to make a custom cover for mine. It does the exact same thing, is easier to remove/replace and only cost 8 bucks.

Far more important than weather protection is surge protection. I actually added two "whole house" surge protectors. A larger one at my main service panel protecting the incoming line and a second smaller one on the pool equipment us panel. Easy install, one afternoon, and total cost less than $150.
