Has anyone ever hired their own subcontractors to remodel their pool? I have a 75' X 12' x 3' lap pool. I need to put new gunite or quartz finish, re-tile water edge, put new coping in (there was non to start with which seemed to be the root of problems) and probably pull up and re-lay slate stone deck.

There have been quite a few folks who have managed their own projects from remodel to complete pool build. The trick is finding the subs and getting them to work on your schedule.
At top right of the page under the Pool School button is a Search field. Type in DIY remodel or something similar and you can find lots of threads on it.
