Testing and wait time...

I've got the K-2006 test kit and have been testing the chlorine levels in my newly opened pool...needless to say I'm trying to keep it at shock level but what I've noticed is that once I put the drops in to make my sample go from pink to clear if I wait awhile it goes back to pink. Am I waiting to long for no reason or should I go with the first reading that I get?

That is normal. The entire test needs to be done with no hesitation or the results will be inaccurate. if you let the FC test sit long enough it will start to react with the CC in the water. This is what you are seeing when the test turns pink on standing.

Thanks...that's what I thought, but just wanted to make sure. Everyday is a new adventure with our pool.
