New pool,swg hard to dial in, not sure its working right since salt isn't needed

FINAL UPDATE YEAH

Pulled out my snorkel mask, and thoroughly inspected light niche, all clean, no gunk anywhere.
Chlorine levels holding okay @ 24. Yesterday was overcast with some rain, today is sunny, so maybe some will burn off.
Did full test of pool water over weekend, and found CYA had dropped from 55 to 35, so boosted back up per pool math.
Chlorine is still high, based on the SLAM test, will just wait for it to drop on its own, before starting up the SWG again.
