How much water can I expect to lose after covering the pool for the winter? It is a solid cover, no mesh. It has been covered for about a month now, and I cant tell it has lost any yet.

As long as you keep it covered water loss should be minimal, no more than maybe an inch or so.
I always lose around 8" of water. I too have a solid cover. The reason I lose so much is because I don't drain the water off the top cover n the weight from rain water displaces pool water out the return. It's completely normal. You'll lose less by keeping the rain water off the cover. I use it for weight so the wind doesn't rip it off my pool.
