pentair easytouch 8 remote stopped working buy new or screenlogic2?

I tried using my easy touch 8 pentair remote (520690) but it won't power up. Changed the batteries but no dice. Checked all contacts in battery compartment there is no corrosion looks like new. Remote has never been submerged in water either. I even changed batteries twice but it's still not powering up. Anyone else had their remote completely die like that?
Looking online found it around $450, which seems to be same cost with the screenlogic2 system (pentair 520500)which seems to be a better option. Thoughts/experiences with screenlogic2 system, will my wireless transceiver from the easytouch8 remote work with the screenlogic2 ?

I think you are much better off to go with the screen logic. I do not think your wireless transceiver is compatible with screen logic. You can get a screen logic wireless bundle for around $370. I got mine at Sunplay.com, they seemed to have the best prices and their delivery was quick.

Ours stopped communicating with the Panel after 10 months and was replaced under warranty. If you're out of warranty, I would do the Screen Logic.

mine won't even power up which seems weird since I've changed the batteries.
