New Soon to be Pool Owner in New York

I am in contract to purchase a home will be closing next month. The house has a 4 year in ground salt water pool (concrete pour with vinyl liner). 20'x40'. 8' at the deep end. i am a DIYer (cars, electronics, building) so i look forward to learning enough to take care of this myself. Here are some pics.

Good for you! That looks lovely. While you are waiting, there are a few things you should do.

Order one of the recommended test kits. The TF-100, is the most suggested one. It's available from TFTestkits.net You'll also want to get the magnetic stirrer. It makes testing fun! I mean it makes it more consistent and somewhat easier.

Also, you'll want to do some reading. I suggest you start with:
What is Trouble Free Pool Care?
ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry

And then work your way through:
Pool School

Jeff, what a pretty set up! Did you buy it for the yard/pool or for the house? BOTH are wonderful!
