pH and TA too high

Welcome to the forum.

1. What are the levels you are talking about?

2. Why do you think TA must be dealt with first?

3. Have you read "The ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry" up in Pool School?

One way to lower your TA is to lower your PH. Please use Pool Math to determine how much MA (Muriatic Acid) you will need. Also, do you have one of the recommended test kits? This will ensure accurate testing as you go along. How do you know your TA and PH is high? How are you testing now?

We recommend highly using muriatic acid, which can be purchased at most paint stores. Eye goggles, a sweatshirt and gloves are recommended if you are not used to working with MA. Also, please purchase a measuring container in the paint section (1 gallon is fine) as you will need to measure MA accordingly. BTW, the measuring container works great for bleach (liquid chlorine) as well.
