Now the warm weather is here I brought in a water sample last night and let it warm up to room temp.

CYA 0 ( tons of rain this winter)
TA 60 ( needs attention)
PH 8.2 ?
ALK (not tested)

I am wondering if this is a true PH test result or a false one ?

Water is cold, didnt take the temp and green ... green ...... green

I am going out to get a new skimmer basket and wanted to know should I pick up some acid while I'm out ?

As frustratedpoolmom said, what was your FC level? High FC is the most likely cause of incorrect PH readings. If your FC level was below 10 then the PH test result is most likely right. If the FC level was above 20 then ignore the PH result completely. If the FC level was above 10 and below 20 then it is probably reading a little higher than actual.
