Solar Cover - Blue or Clear?

The clear solar covers I see online claim to produce more heat, which makes sense because the sun penetrates better than blue. But does that mean the sunlight will eat more chlorine when using a clear liner as opposed to a blue liner? Will a blue liner protect the pool better? Or is this a non-issue when your CYA levels are within range?

There are a lot of threads out there, see ChemGeek's in particular or the one below. From what I gather, here is the consensus.

Clear = more heat production
Blue = more sun protection and less FC loss
UV rays will destroy active, unbound FC at any CYA

Best color for solar cover? And thickness? And....

It is worth noting that a solar cover is more effective at retaining heat than creating it. Meaning there is significant benefit in using any cover, especially at night or when windy, regardless of color and that a pool seems to heat more sans any cover when in the sun.
