have Maxi-Flo 260, old
power went out while heating so exchanger had no cool down
in bound water is 160 degrees and external metal casing was extremely hot
power now back on and exchanger seems to be working as before

so do I conclude it is ok?

does this heat exchanger require a cool down? (have emailed the company)

thank you

Wouldn't think there'd be any problem. Max-Flo appear to be fully welded stainless water to water heat exchanger. Might be more concern about the oil heater dropping out without any circulation because that's where you'd have more of a hot soak risk, but guessing it's robust enough to survive the occasional power failures we experienced over the weekend. A rented space I have in Shoreline is still without power since Saturday.

thank you

still seems to working this morning
pool 81
water going into exchanger say 83/84
water coming out of exchanger say 86/87
from boiler say 155
return to boiler say 120
no leaks yet

so I guess Ok but casing surely was hot

thanks again

I note you are in Seattle and around since 2008
Ok to send you local pool queries?
