Pink Spot

I noticed a very faint pink spot, about an inch and a half in diameter, on my top vinyl step which is only a few inches deep. A magic eraser did not clean it off.

Anyone know what it could be?

I could be pink algae - you should post a full set of numbers, and what you are using to sanitize the water.

I never knew there was such a thing as pink algae. I believe it maybe a small defect in the vinyl liner. It's so small and faint you really have to look for it.

FYI, my numbers are: vinyl IG w/SWG, temp = 86 F

FC = 5.0
CC = 0
pH = 7.4 to 7.6
CYA = 40
TA = 100
CH = 225

I also add some algaecide, poly 60, every couple of weeks.

Your numbers are perfect , I don't think it is algae - especially if it didn't spread. Enjoy the pool 8)
