Broken DE grid spines; big deal?

Hi,

I am replacing some torn DE filter grids and found two grids that have small plastic pieces floating inside. They are clearly parts of the grid spines, I can see where they are cracked.
There are 3 small pieces in one grid, and 2 in another.

Do I need to replace these immediately?

I would replace all of them if some are bad. Usually less than $150 off eBay for all 8.

Eventually the plastic will pierce the fabric and allow DE to return to the pool. And, of course, it will happen when you host your next big pool party!
