New pool owner

I have a 5300 gal. above ground pool. Cartridge filter. We live in North Carolina. Hot and sunny!!

It was put up about 2 months ago. We filled it (ugh). Played in it for a few weeks. We were using chlorine pucks. It got green then it got very green. We started adding algicide etc...

About a week ago a neighbor told us about this site. We ordered the TF100, a new cartridge filter system. Both came today but we had already started with the bleach right away.
Test results today:
PH 7.5
FC 12.5
CC 2.0
CYA--0 very clear all the way to the top.

Water looks milky/ cloudy filter changed daily and is red/brownish. I think we are at the point where we just filter 24/7 until it clears up and also add stabilizer to bring up the CYA checking the chlorine levels and adding daily as needed. Does this seem right?

Welcome to TFP Once you get the pump running 24/7, since your FC is already at 12.5 start adding CYA (Stabilizer) to get it up to at least 20ppm Here is the CYA chart http://www.troublefreepool.com/content/128-chlorine-cya-chart-slam-shock. Stop with the agaecide, thank your neighbor, and continue with the SLAM!

Don't forget that it will take a couple weeks for you to test the stabilizer accurately. It's best to go easy adding it until you get a feel for where it actually is. Unless you like draining your pool........

Good advice. CYA/stabilizer will show up on the cya test after 1 week.
