Pool hasnt been open in a few years.. can they add chlorine?

Hey everyone. 100% of my customers use chlorine. I recently got this new customer and they have a Baq. Pool. They may want to convert to chlorine, im wondering if you even have to "convert" since the pool hasnt been opened in a few years and no Baq has been added. I did not test the water YET.. i was thinking if there is nothing in the water.. i can just add chlorine like any normal chlorine pool. I could be extremely wrong which is why im posting

I would expect there to be some residue left in the water that will react with chlorine. It shouldn't be anything like a full conversion. Still, I would plan on some extra chlorine consumption on startup. You will also need to replace the filter media.

well its an older de filter and the grids were cleaned and stored in the basement for the last 3 years or so... ill figure something out.. thanks lion
