Identify type of filter I'll have.

Identify this type of filter – cartridge, sand, or D.E.
My realtor sent this picture. I am in escrow and am new to pools so wanting to learn as much as possible about the equipment I’ll have. Pool was built in 2003. Pool School has help me immensely. Anxious to start to work on the pool.

Thats a cartridge filter.
A sand filter is very round
a DE filter will have a backwash or bump valve on it.

Do you know how big the pool is?

The pool is 18' X 30' guessing around 22,000 gal. and is a mess. Pool has not been tended to for around a year. Had a cover on it for the last 3 mo.

That is a Hayward single cartridge filter. The pump to the right is a Hayward pump.

22,000 gallons and only one single filter? You may want to consider upgrading that filter to one that's bigger and holds more cartridges.

Cartridge filters are nice, and very easy to maintain. But pools with smaller filters end up having to clean them more often. I have a large, 4 cartridge Hayward (200 square feet of filtration). I cleaned it once last year, and so far only once this year.

It looks like the pressure is pretty high. That should be checked.

If my guess is correct, the pressure may be high due to the small size of the filter and the amount of debris that may be trapped in it.

That is a Star Clear Plus cartridge filter. Looks like a C17502 or 2S. Here is the link to the owners manual.
