Newbie.... hayward s180t sand filter leaking like a geiser where valve meets barrel

Open the clamp (when you shut the water from both ends), pull the valve, inspect the ring. Wipe it, wipe the possible sand off the neck's inside. If the ring us bad, replace, if not - lube with Jax.
Inspect valve part that goes in the neck and the neck itself for cracks or other damage.

Also make sure it is not your fittings that leak and make it look like the neck is leaking.
