The Simms - Inherited a pool

Hi All

We just bought our first house and it came with a pool - a green pool at that. It sure looks like it will be fun, but it's been 3 weeks and it doesn't look swimmable.

We've shocked it a few times and now it's cloudy. I can't tell whether we should dump more chlorine in or if there is something wrong with the filter. It's all so overwhelming. I've been reading some threads and it's making things even more confusing (only for the first while, I hope).

Welcome to the forum. Make your life easier and clear that pool by first ordering a recommended test kit in pool school. Then learn how to SLAM it properly there.

Look at my siggy for where to buy a good test kit like talked about above.

You are at least getting some progress with the water turning a different color. I would keep adding a jug of bleach a day until you get your test kit.

Congrats on the new green pool!

Get one of the Recommended Test Kits. In CA you will have to order the Tayor K-2006 kits.

When you get it give us some test results and get ready to SLAM Your Pool.
