    Heater Pictures

    Im trying to get some ideas on how to run the pipes to and from a heater, any of you have some pics of your set up?

    I'll see what I can find, but generally, you plumb the heater after the pump and filter - water coming FROM the pool through the pump and filter, so that you are heating filtered water. Your chlorine feeder (if you have one) should be plumbed in AFTER the heater, and depending on elevation differences, a check valve should be used so that when you turn off your system, chlorine-rich water will not flow backwards into the heater (heat exchangers are sensitive to that). If you expect to run your pool for extended periods without the heater, a bypass loop with 3-way valves is helpful, so that you are not circulating water into the heater when not in use.
