Looking for quick release cover reel strap clips

Hello,

We have a below ground free form pool, and need to get a roll away cover reel. However when we unroll the cover
we don't want it to remain attached to the reel so we can roll the reel away to store when not in use. From the ones I've
seen so far it looks as if the clips that get attached to the cover are supposed to be permanent. Is this the case? If
so is there a clip kit that has quick release clips of some sort?

Is there a reason you need to move it away from the pool when the cover is on? Most reels are designed to stay in place after the cover is unrolled. Good reels come with the ability to anchor the legs of the reel into the pool deck when the cover is in place.

A DIY fix would be to install snap together buckles in the vinyl strapping between the reel and the cover. Something like this in the proper width:

That's looking real good! I'll go to the hardware store tomorrow and look for these.

We have a free form pool with a removable fence, and the reel remaining with the cover would prevent the fence from being erected on that side.

The straps on my reel are attached with Velcro. It's simple to just pull the ends of the strap off the reel.
