Hayward pool light tripping GFCI

For months now I have tried to fix my pool light. I bought an led light to put into my Hayward astrolight fixture. Out of the water, I could turn on the light and it would work fine and not trip the GFCI. As soon as I put it in the water it would trip the GFCI. I bought a new gasket and everything.

I figured it had to do with the fixture shorting out or the wire so I bought a new Hayward astrolight and wired it up. For a few hours it worked correctly under water and I thought all was good. Now it trips when it is in the water but not when it is out of the water.

I have run out of ideas on what is happening. Any help would be much appreciated.
