New owner. What positions do I keep the valves in when not in use? I have an elevated spa with a waterfall that overflows into pool. Can I just keep the Suction on pool and Return on the spa. Not sure why it was always pool for both suction and return.

I leave mine set so it's 100% suction on pool and 80-20 pool-spa on return. If you have a bad check valve, you may see the spa drain back into the pool overnight.
