Ok that didn't work. Not only that but the replacement switch didn't work at all where the old one did.

Toggling the heat on and off a few times , seems to clear the issue ( temporarily until next startup ) . I have a hot tub and had a similar problem , pressure switch failing and heat would not turn on. Going to give replacement a try.

It's almost impossible with all the rain and our pool is surrounded by tall trees. That said the filters are barely dirty , the chlorine is on the high side and the pressure is low ( high would be clogged filters. )

In hindsight. Do you think you needed anything besides the insultation ? I don't understand why there was no recall or such...

I have an older NorthStar Pump, 2HP , it is a beast. Doesn't have 2 speeds , just 1. Flow into the pool seems strong as always.

It's been crazy raining here , battling algae all summer

What does that indicate ? Chlorine has been pretty steady all summer, I shock when needed and keep the chlorinator filled every 2 weeks.

Just another observation , recently the heater has been making a moaning noise on occasion. Again on my todo to deep dive this problem , hoped it could wait until the season ended.

Thank you all for reaching out so soon. Did clean the filters again and replace. It worked but they really weren't that dirty. These are 2023 filters, and the pressure was very low, which usually indicates not dirty ( over the 12 years I have had this pool. Heater is like 5 years old.

I guess I need to find a exploded diagram to determine the location.

Yes the hi limit is a nuisance , but clears and resets. I do have it on my todo to find an insulation solution, just Leary that causes some damage if the temp is legit too high. SW Open is the other problem.

So I'm back to this problem , more and more frequently now. Cleaning baskets and filters always fixed the issue before , but now we just did the filters 2 weeks ago and the pressure is normal , flow appears normal, no bubbling . Heater wont start sw open. We also get hi limit fault as well ...

Wow that was much more involved than I realized.. Had very carefully disconnect all the rusty connections , then disconnect the water lines just to even start.. Crazy I didn't loose any bolts during the process.. Thanks for your help , heater shows no signs of leaks ( at the moment ;-) )

Wow that's unfortunate. I was a jandy owner , but they weren't very helpful to the consumer. Was advised raypak was ... At least the publish the troubleshooting guide. So do you think the fiberglass idea makes sense ? Seems something that would collect and retain water and prematurely degrade...

Thank you so much for the reply and warning. Last year I took the rear of the exchange apart and there was 1 long oring. I assume that's what you mean.. I ordered a couple. Can I use magic lube to lubricate this area even though it's exposed to heat ?

It's the time of year and pool is in the process of being opened . Went to test the Heater ( Raypak 399K Natural Gas Nickle ) and the panel flickers with all hashes.. Power cycled it several times same deal. Next morning I went to record the issue and all worked heater came on , display showed...

I have a gunite pool and in several places where the tile meets what I guess is the plaster , some chunks have come off and I can see more want to if given a love tap ;-). Noting really below that tile line and only in a few places , so hoping I can repair and keep the situation from worsening...
