    Hello From GA!

Go with your own readings for SURE! Which puts your target shock level FC much lower. In this case, you could use Jason's method until your test kit arrives.

    Hello From GA!

Aww gotcha! I was only looking at the most recent test result post. I would assume this is yet another case of getting 'pool stored' !

    Hello From GA!

Jason, wont this still only measure up to 15 FC? If the target FC is 28 to shock, I'm not sure that method would work. (obviously, correct me if I am wrong :hammer: )

    Hello From GA!

:goodjob: Great! Having that test will make your shocking process MUCH easier!

    Hello From GA!

To test higher levels of FC, you will need a FAS-DPD chlorine test. This comes with the Taylor K-2006, but not the 2005. It also comes with the TF-100 kit. You can buy only the FAS-DPD test if you want.

Finally got a pool! Now what!?

Travis, welcome to TFP! I second cramar's advice. Test your water chemistry and post results, and CYA will likely be the first thing to add. Also, adding your pool specs and equipment information to your signature box will help for future posts. Lastly, we love pictures!!

Good idea on the sump pump! With FC in there, and at least some circulation..you will be just fine!
