I was able to run SWG at 100% all night and had 8 ppm chlorine at lunch today. I plan to inspect and clean cell tomorrow. One strange note, I now have white flakes (almost looks like rock salt) floating in the pool. Not sure if this is being discharged from return or some other source. Any...

Helllo all, having some concerns with chlorinator. We have finally had a number of hot days in a row and my pool with no shade has reached 92 degrees. Ive had to push chlorinator all the way up to 80 percent to keep 3 ppm free chlorine in pool. Cya is 80. Usually i run it 20 to 30 percent...

Bubbles and sputtering from return jets

I agree, i dont suppose the liqid cya could cause foam or some kind of runoff from flood? I was thinking there are many fertilizers/pesticide etc running off lawns in my neighborhood. Or could the excessive organic matter cause that even thought i dont see it anymore? Free chlorine and cc are...

Bubbles and sputtering from return jets

Last monday (almost two weeks ago) when the pool flooded I added liquid chlorine (pool essentials chlorinating liquid from WalMart). Added one gallon until I could get the chlorinator back up and running.

Bubbles and sputtering from return jets

I've read a few related posts on this but not quite found a situation that matches mine. Everything appears to be filtering fine but I have a jet that sputters occasionally and makes a popping noise. Water is still returning fine but I do see bubbles as this occurs. I am wondering if there is...

    Help with CYA Type/Recomendation?

Thanks, i tried it out this afternoon. Cya does show increase around 20 ppm an hour later. Quick and easy but as pointed out, pricey. I read a few comments on amazon stating that it did not last as long or would not show up on tests a few days later. Hopefully that does not end up being the...

Help w Hayward Pro Logic, Zeroed out Salt Reading

Nevermind, now it let me do it. Not sure why it would not respond before. Guess the chlorinator may not have been running at that moment or something. Thanks!

Help w Hayward Pro Logic, Zeroed out Salt Reading

Ok salt was added three hours ago and is dissolved now. I turned chlorinator up from 0 to 15 percent on settings menu. My diagnostic menu now says chlorinator off, test salt level. The next screen which i think ia the one you are referring to says instant salt, chlorinator off. Is there a...

Help w Hayward Pro Logic, Zeroed out Salt Reading

I added salt tonight and attempted to get an instant salt reading off the dignostic menu on the aquapod. The instant salt screen said 0000 ppm and i incidentally hit the + sign thinking it would refresh but i saved the 0000 ppm reading and now my default menu screen reads zero and gives me a...

    Help with CYA Type/Recomendation?

Thanks, i think i will go the more expensive route this time due to lack of experience. The liquid seems easier at this point.

    Help with CYA Type/Recomendation?

Need to add CYA after copious amounts of rainfall. I am down to around 30 and it is noticeably affecting chlorine levels. Pool store recommended a liquid stabilizer from natural chemistry that is instant and claims to be less harsh on pool equipment etc. I could add one gallon and get to...

Exactly what ive done, no algae yet, chlorine around 8 ppm, swg running well now showing 2800 ppm salt. Really the DE filter is doing all the work. Really proving itself so far. Dolphin m400 running continuously cleaning up all dirt. Learning a lot from this experience. Only issue was after...

Ok well at least i have some chlorine in the water thanks to you all. I was thinking i needed three bags of salt to get from 2300 to 3200. I added two first just to be safe and not overshoot. Ive read the cells are not always accurate. Will wait and see. Thank u all for your help/advice...

Yes its all dirt/debri. Pool has never had algae. Was perfect water yesterday. I will get clorinator going. Should i super chlorinate or just set at normal rate till i get to 4 ppm. I typically run it at 25 to 30 percent. Keeps me around 4 to 5 ppm. But ive never had all this organic...
