You're right it's reliable until your FC goes above 5 then all bets are off. The pool store recommends FC 1-4 (nothing about CC) and CYA between 30-50. Sorry, but NO. They're not distinguishing that your FC levels are directly related to CYA levels. With a CYA level of 45 (40-50) I don't let...

Your pool looks great! Good on you! I'd have loved to be a fly on the wall when you refused the chemicals from the PS. It does make you feel good when you know the so called pros have no clue of the relationship between CYA and FC and you do. Love it!
