Give up on above ground pool?

Ok, thanks. I had calculated the pump we needed based on gallons of water and came up with that one as fine, but I'll look into something different. So just to clarify, if we had a better pump, that would take care of the problem? Thanks

Give up on above ground pool?

I have chronic pain so the pool is good for me, especially with pools not opening possibly this summer because of Covid. However, we've had a really hard time with our above-ground pool, and spent way too much on it so far. When we moved into the house it hadn't been used for a while, so...

Thank you, that's what I was looking for but couldn't find it with the forum search for some reason.

    Basic maintenance steps?

We are finally getting the pool where it needs to be with consistent FC and pH numbers. I was just wondering what the basic maintenance daily/weekly is for most people because i'm running out of testing reagents quickly. I'm thinking I should check FC daily, and maybe pH? Then CYA weekly...

Kit arrived, test results, what steps to add chemicals?

How do I add 3 ppm, do you just mean add chlorine and keep checking until it's 3ppm? Run the pump for a while before adding CYA, or add both at the same time and then pump? And the sock with CYA goes in or by the skimmer? I was thinking the chlorine would just dissipate without the CYA? I...

Kit arrived, test results, what steps to add chemicals?

Here are the test results using the Taylor K-2006 kit. I also listed the Pool Math app recommendations, but it's been a bit confusing lately and time consuming as it doesn't save any of my results FC - 0 CC or TC - Didn't check this as I didn't have pink water to change into clear? pH - 7.6...

Newly filled pool already has cyanuric acid?

Can kids swim in it yet? It has been filled for a week now while we work on it, and they are ancy!:) It's not cloudy, test strips show no free chlorine, we've used 1.5 gallons so far.

Newly filled pool already has cyanuric acid?

Thank you, getting a test kit and wishing I had done that a week ago instead of adding all the muriatic acid/chlorine, sounds like should have started with the CYA.

Newly filled pool already has cyanuric acid?

We had to get a new liner for our 15,000gallon above ground pool at the house we bought, and we filled the pool, checked the cyanuric acid level and it was 30-50 on the 7 way test strips, which said ideal. Is that normal not to have to add any CA to a new pool? It's hard city water, out in the...
