In the first picture, you'll see (kinda deep down) that the blade has deteriorated. The second picture is the other side, but you can see that the particular blade has started wearing down on this side as well.

I would say it had a good life. It worked just fine until this spring. Hopefully the new one lasts as long! :p

When done with the SLAM, i would highly recommend a re-test of your salt using the Taylor K-1766 kit. This happened to me (auto-fill being stuck) and i was pouring hundreds of gallons of water down the drain. Before i detected the problem, my salt content lowered more than 1,500...which reduced...
