    Pool stability. Installed a 24 x 12 x 52 above ground pool.

Elbows most almost certainly mean an Intex type. I am assuming here, but a rectangle ABG pool with elbows screams that type of pool. Can you show us some pictures of your setup? Tell us more about how you prepared the spot, and how you installed the legs? Did you add pavers? Were they flush...

    "liner" under the pool

We didn't do sand this time, but did do two tarps over the sifted (for rocks) dirt that had been meticulously leveled. When you fill, get in and start spreading out the bottom of the liner as soon as you can. If you get even 1" of water, it's nearly impossible to get wrinkles out. Get on...

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Wow, now that's dedication. We succumbed to buying new filters, till we had 6 leftovers (because I didn't throw them away) and I started washing them. The ex had probably tossed at least 4 by then. Eventually discovered TFP and a couple seasons later moved to a sand filter. My life became...

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Haha, correct. EXCEPT when you're talking about the ridiculous little cartridge pumps that come with the Intex type pools.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

It is deep enough to swim laps. That's the depth mine is. It is fine for laps. I have a rectangular pool.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

NO DIVING in Intex Pools!!!!! None of them are deep enough. NO NO!!!

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

It will work on any soft sided pool, with adjustments for the height of the pool. Or possibly a metal frame Intex type. The varying depth vs top rail (inflatable ring + soft side) is dependent on the pool itself.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

That 6 way isn't what he needs. TFP needs K-2006. Hoping some people will post options in Asia for a good test kit.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

I have a ladder he could have as well. I think the shipping might be prohibitive. Working on calculating that. It's just a ladder... which I could put on my curb and get rid of within a day.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

We need to find him a test kit now. And a ladder. Cuz those pools are difficult without a ladder. A ladder is $78. It's ridiculous.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Actually, I've been pm'ing the op and it's all on the up and up. We just need to sort out his issues in a foreign location for a pool for the kids, that doesn't come with a ladder.

Pretty sure I would have been banned before my post number is what it is, if I was a troll.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Uh... no. I've lived all the pools up till my "big" pool which is actually the same volume as my 15' round. Why would you think I'm a troll?

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Add the ring, about 8" more than your legs.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Oh dear lord... I watched to the end of that video. It's painful. All kinds of realities for what NOT to do and tons of diving board fails. I couldn't watch any more of those kids doing back flips and smacking their heads into the coping. Had to skip them. And so many terrible waters...

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

30" is... 30 inches. 6" less than 3 feet. or, 76.2cm You'll have to decide if that's deep, or not deep for yourself :p
  20. frogabog

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Sure, if you want to spill water every time said kid gets in and out. Those pools are soft sided, they spill water when someone pushes on the top ring. Watch this at 5:24 to see exactly what I'm talking about.

Howdy! (Got a question about using 2 pumps)

2 pumps in parallel or series reduces flow and head. They interfere with each other. Run these things separately. They aren't real pumps. They are only designed to move the water they are intended to move. http://www.mcnallyinstitute.com/18-html/18-1.htm

    Leaking Intex Return valve

That air jet is stupid. Aeration raises pH. Nice if you want to raise it, but hard to completely close off. Mine seems to have settled into almost no bubbles as long as I don't touch the cap. If I take it off to aerate or bump it, it takes a day or two to settle back down. The return...

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Ladders for these pools shouldn't be more than maybe $25. Don't pay that much for a ladder. I realize your locale changes things, but they aren't worth even $25 in the first place. Do you have any local used stuff sources such as Craigslist? People give these ladders away for free all the...

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. The ladder came with the pool or did not come with the pool? Are you saying you can't get the ladder put together properly? A 32" ladder is fine for a 30" pool.

Howdy! (Got a question about using 2 pumps)

We just threw the hoses over the side. Weighed down the suction side with a bat weight and bungied the return to the rail. Bunch more pics here Index of /images These did run 24/7 but it was a larger pool than yours and needed it.

Does Intex pool 8*30 worth it?

The pool should come with a ladder. Which pool exactly are you buying?

    Slide with above ground pool?

Feet and butt first isn't the problem with shallow pools. It's diving, cuz the noggin and spine is particularly important for humans.

New to TFP from Washington state.

Oops, I forgot to tell you to close the pool after the water is 60 degrees or less. Algae doesn't grow well in cold water. You can read about water chemistry for closing your pool in Pool School. Those tablets are acidic and not good for your pump because when it's not running the acid and...
