The recorded highest temp so far this year was 89.6 no solar cover, and the pool gets partially shaded from sunrise to about noon by a big over hanging maple tree. The tree line to the west comes into play about 2hrs before sunset.

The best Hover Float shots I have seen were taken at night. (no shadows)

I second the Permethrin, I use it at my place. I also make sure that I get the underside of all my wood decks, and awning frame work to keep the carpenter bees at bay. When mixed at different strengths, it can also be used as a dog dip. Keep it away from cats though, as their systems can't...

I used to have a cat that would follow me into the shower, and sit there while I was showering.

The pool has changed since then... I really need to get out there with the drone to get a shot of what it's like now, but it has been too dang hot! New pool, new deck.... etc. I'll try to do it before I end up closing it for the season.

Of those 2, I would opt for the brushless. The camera hanging under the drone is a weak point for new pilots, and is often the first casualty in a crash.

I fill them with water, and hang them from my winter cover instead of using the (useless) draw-wire that comes with it.

Truth be told, after levelling, joining, and applying the finish skin to them, you won't believe your eyes. I used to install slate top pool tables (picture 6' X 12' X 1.75" Slate) they came in 3 sections that had to be matched up perfectly, and levelled. By the time we were done, you couldn't...

They will mix up some concrete grout, and join the 2 together so you won't be able to see the seam. (It also prevents water from dripping between the slabs in the rain)

You are supposed to, I live well outside of one, so I haven't had to. If you are staying at, or below tree top level, I would think that you could skip it, but if you get a "Fly Away". you may have some explaining to do if you haven't informed them in advance.
