Hello to all, If I had mustard algae and performed the proper SLAM, since I cannot brush inside the skimmer lines back to the pump or other water features inbound and outbound lines, can M-Algae hideout in there and cause problems later? If so, any solutions? Thanks, tstex

M, I would certainly apply a lot of bleach to the algae below the liner. Perhaps even removing the top 2-3 inches of soil and replacing it w sand...that would also provide a nice footing. You might want to take some of the flooring and determine if it was permeable to diffuse water through...

Brian, You should buy enough PVC of the correct ID to insert the hose and divert the waste water to the street or wherever is best permitted. You don't want that water soaking into the ground to tree roots and similar. Keep applying the CL and you knock out this algae.

Wow, 80 drops per test. That would be 8 Reg tests at FC = 5. Good luck Brian...w a FC = 40, that's a pretty strong cocktail...make sure you're running that strength through all your water features and all piping. If that doesn't get it, you may have mustard algae type 8

Brian, Being in NY, maybe you can take a live sample of your "m-algae" to a bio lab for identification/classification. FC levels of 40+ should be knocking out this stuff if administered for extended periods. The only thing that jumps out at me is you stated you've been dealing w this for 9...
