Can you go from sitting in a Bromine hot tub to diving in a Chlorine pool?

My SPA is both bromine and has an ozonator. Personally I think the ozonator was a waste of money. I have used bromine in my spa since I got it and have never had any problems. However, if I had to do it again, I would probably have gone chlorine just to make it the same as my pool. Since I...

    Ahhhsome Question

Ahhsomeguy, Thanks for replying. It is nice to see the manufacturers online supporting their product. I did not want to imply that the result was insignificant, but rather it was not as dramatic as I have read from others for my particular tub. I was pleasantly surprised.

    Ahhhsome Question

I just treated my spa for the first time. I had never treated it before so I was expecting the worst. Ahhhsome was a gel, which surprised me. I placed three teaspoons in my spa while it was running full bubbles and water at perfect levels. It bubbled a lot and I got some bubbles that were...

Giving up on pool - how much work is a hot tub?

I agree with the above. I have a 27' AGP and a large hot tub. I have had a hot tub, not the same one, for over 25 years. I love them and use mine just about every night. There is nothing like having a glass of wine sitting under the stars while the hot tub massages your worries away. Now...

    Spa Cover Recommendations

I bought my current spa cover about 7 years ago from Hottubworks.com. At that time you could not only select color and look, but you could decide on type of foam insert, tie downs, etc. Each one was made to your specifications. Mine has been great! NOTE: This was 7 years ago and the tops...

Not able to keep sanitizer level up

Sjde, We get into our SPA every night. Once we get out, I give it a splash of chlorine to reactivate the Bromine. If I do not do this, mine goes to zero as well.

Is it safe to use tarp over hard spa cover?

Though I do not see any problems with a tarp, wouldn't it be much easier to just put some weight on the cover to seal the gaps? My hardtop actually has material overhanging the sides so it covers the gaps. I have a cover similar to these: https://www.spadepot.com/Spa-Covers-C45.aspx

Bromine reading 0 with Spa Frog, driving me nuts...

Sounds like you may have some algae in the spa causing you to lose so much sanitizer. Can you post your test results here so that we can get an idea of the chemistry of your spa? I have a spa that is a tad bit larger than yours and I use the Frog cartridge. I leave mine set on 3 and it keeps...

    Tub too hot?

Soupy, For the temperature to get that hot, it would have to be some type of equipment failure. I would definitely check it out. A heater running constantly could result in a fire hazard. My tub stays a constant 102 deg 24/7, 365 days a year.

Moved into new home and need help making decision about 20+ year old hot tub

I have had SPAs for about 25 years. One of the best things I did was replace my 15 year old spa with a new one. It saved me a ton in energy costs, it had much better automation, it had a bunch more jets, it was much easier to maintain, the right size, and contained more conveniences like drink...

Install Pool with Hot Tub or no Hot Tub

I have a standalone spa with a hard, insulated cover. In the winter while our pool is closed and the pump is off, the spa is at a constant 102 deg and ready. We never have to wait for it to warm up or anticipate when we will use it. There is nothing like grabbing a bottle of wine and sitting...

    Hot Tubs

I have owned Marquis Spas and have loved them. They are a quality product that I have never had any problems with. Mine has a fountain, drink holders, hidden filters, head cushions, neck massagers, different speeds, digital readouts, and selectable zones. We keep ours at a nice 102deg 24/7...

    Bullfrog or Hotsprings

I can't give you any comments, but I did want to mention something. Loungers in Hot tubs do not work for everyone. Some people, like myself, tend to float above them rather than be comfortable in them, especially if they have a lot of blowers. I much prefer the seats with jets. It is just...

Hot tub turning silver jewelry black

Wow. I have owned a hot tub for at least 20 years (and nearly in it every night), and my wife and I never remove any jewelry when getting into it. We have never had jewelry tarnish. Our spa is 340 gallons and bromine sanitized. I also have a chlorine based swimming pool (granted not nearly...

Spa numbers - How to a raise TA without raising PH

Bigdog, I also have a Bromine spa that is 340 gallons (I bit smaller than yours). I have found it is easier for me to raise the TA using Baking Soda to the level I want, and then adjust the pH down using Muriatic Acid to the level I want. That way if the pH continues to raise, I know my TA is...

    Spa shell color

We went with a dark blue because it looked cleaner. I would think that a black color would show every little speck floating and may be a turn off.

    Let's Talk Spa Covers

Stevebass, I have a 2006 Marquis spa "the Quest" (340 gallon) that I have replaced the top twice. My last one was purchased almost exactly 4 years ago from "Hottubworks.com. They custom make covers and will ensure that it fits like a glove. I purchased mine with the 2lb foam and the sky blue...
