PLEASE HELP - Can I close my pool with free chlorine at 13 ppm?

Thanks to all for your input. They wound up running late and coming the next day. By then, my FC was down to 7. I don't have a contract with an explicit guarantee. I will look into that for next year. Also, FWIW, they did test the water even though I did my own chemicals. Thanks again and...

Does adding closing dose of PolyQuat 60 cause problems with pH readings?

Thank you. They ended up running late so I pushed my closing to the next day (Friday). As a result, I was able to retest my water. My FC went down to 7 and my pH went down to 7.4 which is where I expected it to be after adding the acid on Thursday. Thanks again for your help. Have a nice...

Does adding closing dose of PolyQuat 60 cause problems with pH readings?

Thanks. They are coming to close the pool this afternoon. Are you saying I should wait a while (maybe a week), open the cover, test the chlorine and if back in the 5 ppm range, test the pH? If I have to add acid then, any advice on how I would mix it into the pool since everything will be...

Does adding closing dose of PolyQuat 60 cause problems with pH readings?

The chlorine is 12 but it was 12 with the pH at 7.5 before I added about 10oz of acid which should have brought it to 7.4. The only other thing I did was add polyquat 60. I've drained my pool to the bottom of my skimmer and I am waiting for the pool company to come close it. Should I add more...

Does adding closing dose of PolyQuat 60 cause problems with pH readings?

Good Morning, I started the day with a pH of about 7.5 and I wanted to bring it down a bit before closing so I added about 10 oz of muriatic acid which should have brought it down to 7.4. About an hour later, I added the closing/treatment dose of algaecide. I am getting ready to drain some...

PLEASE HELP - Can I close my pool with free chlorine at 13 ppm?

I am having my pool company close my pool tomorrow. I originally planned to have them do the chemicals because it is only my second closing and I am still learning. Then I looked at JasonLion's closing post and decided it would be better for me to do my own chemicals so that I could put some...

Submersible or Transfer Pump for Mesh Pool Cover?

Good Morning, My pool service company is coming next week to close my fiberglass pool with my mesh loop loc cover. This is my second closing. Last year, I was concerned that the water level would rise and cause problems with my coping stones which are glued down on the fiberglass lip (and...

Water Level Too High When Fiberglass Pool Was Closed (Escaping through Skimmer)

Thanks for your advice. The pool company came back on Monday and pumped out water so that it was mid-skimmer. I do believe they installed gizmo in the skimmer (see original pictures). Fingers crossed I won't have any problems when we open the pool in the spring.

Water Level Too High When Fiberglass Pool Was Closed (Escaping through Skimmer)

On Wednesday, I had my new fiberglass pool closed for the first time and had a Loop-Loc Super Mesh cover installed. Instead of using my pool builder, I used a local pool company who provided a quote for a seemingly better cover at a more reasonable rate. Even my pool builder said it was a good...
