I ended up biting the bullet and replaced the motor. Nothing I tried worked and I needed to get it running to clean my pool out. I really appreciate all the help here...you guys are the best!!

Just took this off. Looks like it might be the culprit. This is the contacts on the V thing. Clean with rubbing alcohol?
