    Hayward Ecostar VSP pump stalled

Sounds like my ecostar that died about a month ago. From what I could determine from the trouble shooting that Hayward recommends it’s the drive unit that died. I’ve seen a few photos of some units that have had drive unit die and I have noticed a little burn spot right above the circle next...

New wet end for the intelliflo ?

Looks like this is going to be the new intelliflo to replace model 011018. New model number is 011055 and is called the intelliflo 2 VST. You can go to energystar.gov website and compare the 2 models. Looks like a more efficient wet end. A few other bells and whistles about it on Pentair site...

I have the Ecostar with a cartridge filter. One configuration I have noticed for my setup is if the filter is dirty and I divert the water through the heater it sometimes has a problem priming. This only happens if diverted to heater. Dirty filter any other time has little or no effect on...

    Hayward Eco Star Questions

What about making a 2” manifold for the intake being feed by all the 1 ½ intakes placing upgraded valves on the 1 ½ pipes . And using 2 “ for the pad plumbing. Make a 2” return manifold run all the returns off that. Placing upgraded valves on the return lines not on the manifolds.

need a recommendation on a new variable speed pump

I have the Ecostar. With all the timers ( 8 separate) you can run it 800 to a 1000 rpm just to filter, and have it speed up a couple of times a day to make the skimmer work more effectively. I also have a fountain and a spa. So it also allows me to tweak the speed for optimal use of anything...

    Intelliflo Weather Resistance??

Below is from Pentair VS 3050 manual page 18 3. Protect against moisture: • Protect from splashing pool water. • Protect from the weather. • Protect from lawn sprinklers. • If a motor has become wet - let it dry before operating. Do not allow the pump to operate if it has been flooded...

in ground pool with spa need help

Your pool configuration sounds a lot like mine. I had a 1.5 hp pump and had to open the valves to spa and close all the returns to the pool and get the pressure up a little over 25 psi to get the jets to have bubbles in them. At 20 psi it could not pull the air in. My spa has 4 jets and 1.5...

    How Small is too Small?

Most spa's need quite a bit of water moving fast. You may not get bubbles in the jets with 1 hp.

How much wattage per hr does a Hayward Super 2 pump use?

I agree with Jason I've seen my house voltage anywhere from 108 to 124 volts. Then add in power factor and there could be a difference. I guess were are looking at a snapshot when what is happening is a movie.

How much wattage per hr does a Hayward Super 2 pump use?

All the following reading where taken with a clamp amp meter. I had a single speed 1.5 hp pump that drew 18.6 amps. I replaced it with the EcoStar about 2 weeks ago. Running the the Ecostar at 2500 rpm gives close to the old pump flow ( I can tell by the pressure at a fountain) it draws 6...

old pump and estimation of the turnover time

Since intake is 1.5 inch that’s going to be the max you will be able to flow. Most agree that 44 gallons minute is about the max you will get though that. So in theory all things perfect you would need at least 11 hours for your pool for one turn over. In reality I would think 14 or more...

Would like to add new return line to gunite IG spa

Another work around would be to leave one of the eyes loose enough so you can just reach in and take one out. This will reduce back pressure and keep the venturi effect from happening. Just screw it back in when you get in.

    Suction manifold redo

Bad lableing, they should be pool drain and spa drain. Between pool drain and skimmer will be new take off for pump. I found a good price on these "Pentair 1.5" PVC, 2-Way Lube-Free Diverter Valve, with 2" Slip Outside" $22.76. If order is over $149 free shipping.
