I just ruined my pump, what should I do now?

The little pump that could... hehe These pumps do seem to work well beyond what one would expect for some reason.

I just ruined my pump, what should I do now?

See if it works. It just might. I've not seen the pump itself for sale. There's a 16" combo on Amazon right now for $189 though. Another option might be local used. People might be selling off pools and pumps that never got used about now.

    Pump Comparisson

I feel like 3 pumps and 3 sand filters is a bit excessive... FWIW, I don't test every day. Maybe once or twice a week. I know my pool wants ~4ppm every day, which for me is 4 cups. It's just me n the pool every night with my lights and bleach... I might get people to swim this saturday when...

    Pump Comparisson

I actually have a massive sand filter and pool pump that the ex decided to pick up off the curb one night. No clue what I'll do with it. You can have it ;~} I'm not a fan of the water features much. Seems they can't even be run often since they raise pH and if you don't run them a little...

    Pump Comparisson

I'm on the fence too. I know everyone says the rusting isn't because of the SWCG, but my pool fell apart over the winter after I switched and it really was perfectly fine when we covered it for the winter. I know my chemistry was spot on as well. Shrug... I'm tempted to try again but the...

    Pump Comparisson

Are you going away from the Intex type with a mainstream AGP? Or will it be another Intex type? The Intex combo SWCG I had for my 15' Intex worked nicely although it had this copper thing that I had to unplug so no copper would go into the water. I have a 16" SWCG combo that I didn't hook up...

Is this pump & filter ok?

Right, 7200 or 7600 gallons is inconsequential. I hit the wrong key... :~} This is a smokin deal on a 3000gph sand filter and pump combo and it's plenty for your pool. It's $60 off right now, so you may want to get it ordered before they sell out or raise the price back up...

Is this pump & filter ok?

I think that's the 1600gph model, which is a little small for 7600 gallons, although it might work if the run time is long enough. I'm running a 1200gph model on a 3800 gallon pool and I run it for 7 hours a day. I think it's small for this pool but has surprised me that it's working fine...

    Pump not turning on.

I wouldn't call customer support, talk to technical support. It appears there's a live chat to tech support that's not the same as the customer support on their Support page.

    Pump not turning on.

Maybe contact support. They can likely access logs on their end. First thing I thought of is an IP change for your router. Which happens periodically on all ISPs, but under normal circumstances it shouldn't have knocked you entirely off the network and also logged you out in the app.

    Pump not turning on.

Do you have access to the error logs? Is it only via an app on your phone or do you have a program running on your computer too?

    Skimmer Problems

Hi and Welcome to TFP! There's something amiss with your system if the basket jumps out when the pump starts, which I'll let the experts chime in to help you with. You could put something in the basket, but do make sure it's bigger than the pipe under the basket. Recently a member here put a...

Solar plumbing question. How do you turn it off?

That poor valve on the right side has no handle anymore. Gonna be fun trying to turn that one. I'm surprised the installer didn't suggest replacing it. Oh wait... they installed that pump. Not surprised...

Solar plumbing question. How do you turn it off?

I'd call the installer back out to move that pump. Blocking a valve from being able to be used/turned is stupid. That's like installing a (something) in the way of a door so that it can't be opened. Duh!

Air in pool pump or cavitation

Technically, cavitation is air caught in your pump at the impeller. Air typically doesn't enter at the pump though. Air does however get caught in the pump, causing cavitation. It's noisy, thumpy. Before or after your pump, the air isn't exactly cavitation. Are you hearing cavitation...

    Low PSI on sand filter

I'm running the baby version (1200gph) of the Intex sand filter and the pressure just barely goes into the yellow when I have to backwash due to low flow. I can't recall what the psi is at the moment but I know it's super low because when I first checked it I was weirded out about the low...

    Chinese Knock Off Pool Filters?

You could be the guinea pig and report back? Seems too good to be true, but if you can spare $18 for curiosity sake and have the time to remove and install twice when/if it fails... Do tell us what you get and how it works?

“Filter” setting vs “Recirculate/Circulate” setting question! (Sand filter)

TBH, I wondered why it's an option myself. To save sanity, I cast that wonder aside.

“Filter” setting vs “Recirculate/Circulate” setting question! (Sand filter)

Recirculate is when you don't want the water to filter. The water pumps, but no filtration. No one ever used that. lol

My pump has been running dry for days. How screwed am I?

I feel that our children are capable of many things with instruction, that is comparable to ourselves. Heat in the northern climates is not comparable to TX. Very much not the same. Still, it's a pump seal and a bearing. This is a very teachable moment.

My pump has been running dry for days. How screwed am I?

Really, the only thing you need to be worried about is the seal or the bearing, due to heat from running without water. The impeller won't be affected by heat, nor will the motor (motor runs in the heat normally, just fine). Make the kid take the pump apart and replace the parts. There are...

    Skimmer weir fail

Dealing with the same thing on a Hayward skimmer package for lined pools. I am thinking to lube the weir casing with some petroleum jelly. Or, some silicone lube. Depending on what I can find tomorrow. OK, I give... I bought petroleum jelly. Who has a hot water bottle hanging around?
