    Bonding Lug Wire

Allowable by code or not I have never seen an insulated conductor used for a bonding grid. Is it possible that they used that to bond the screen house frame to the bonding grid??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What permanent glue to use on pipes with threads?

Apply the Teflon tape in the same direction that the fitting is turned while tightening. I do not need to tape or pipe dope the center connection in my unions and they never leak. The threaded end, I would use the tape or pipe dope. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Electrical shock from my pool water!

Re: Electrical shock from my pool water! No doubt it is likely stray voltage from somewhere that is using the human as a ground. This sounds like a self contained, stand alone tub. Like a HotSprings or Jacuzzi etc?? At least by me, there are no external bonding grid requirements for stand...

Hayward Aquarite Flow Sensor- Two cut in a Week!

I like the idea of putting it in armored cable like that. That will take care of the varmints. If the cuts were clean, you likely have a bad neighbor. Hide the trail camera in a good spot where it cannot be seen easily by the culprit (if it is human) or they will just take that too. One...

Jandy valve connected directly to pump

I think it will be fine like it is. Just make sure to not flood the underground tornado shelter with the waste water. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pump losing prime after 20 minutes

I just hope the air that is entering the system is somewhere around the equipment as opposed to under the ground. My guess is that there is a seal somewhere or an elbow that has a very slight pinhole leak that after 20 mins sucks in just enough air. I will be interested to see the video when you...

My embarrassing pipes... (are they impeding flow?)

Won't make much difference in flow rates. May take a little more to prime pump if it ever needs to be turned off/on. Glue some kind of fake looking sensor on top and tell people it is a fun o meter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Alwys a very small layer of water around the base of pumping station...

My equipment constantly has some form of moisture around it. But it is outside so it could be dew or irrigation or any number of other things. If the equipment is inside and you have water around the base, there is a leak. I would also suggest wiping the underside if the pump off between the wet...

Coolest things you've found in your skimmer

We get bobwhite quail but I have never seen one in or by the pool. But our cover is closed 90% of the time and the take off when we go outside. We have 40 acres if field next to us. I bet there are thousands in there since my lab died and is not out there to terrorize them. Sent from my...

Coolest things you've found in your skimmer

Bugs. Just dead bugs. We had a brood of Kildeer (a small bird) in the pool. My wife was trying to net them out as momma bird attacked her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Broken return jet face plate.

I had to replace one and did it under water. Yours looks just like mine. Just 4 screws, no washers, no nuts, no drama. Get a new rubber gasket as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    obstacle in my sand filter

Don't know about a pentair triton sand filter, but I have a SD60 and yes, mine is about 2/3 full and isn't that the cap that is used to center the pipe and keep sand out during filling? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Pleats and Square Feet

I will be interested to hear the feedback. I believe that I am "over pumped" as well. Mine is with a SD60 sand filter and it came with a 2hp single speed pump. I see people with 3/4, 1 and 1.5hp on here but rarely 2hp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Inline chlorinator not producing chlorine in pool

I say drop a couple in the skimmer and tell the rug rats to stay out of it. I did that when we went on vacation just as insurance for my SWG. I was in same boat. Needed some cya as well. It worked well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    My Poor Boy Aerator

This is what we did last year to cool our water when it got got tub like. Not the same problem this year. Aeration does raise your ph though. Hard to see but laterals have small holes drilled in them on an angle that puts water out at a 45 degree angle to water line. And no that overgrown weed...

    pump troubles

I just had the wet end of a pump on my spa seize up. After doing all of the research I replaced the whole shooting match. Pump and wet end. Not worth doing part on an older motor like that.
