Why did the plaster take a beating? Did you not put a tarp or something down to protect it? That’s one expensive investment to subject to a beating. Maybe I misunderstood.

So got a quote for $7,500 and no chip out. If I understood correctly they drain, sand, apply a bond coat then plaster. Also fix any hollow spots. And no tile replacement. Does this seem about right?

I was thinking maybe some of the garage/shop floor paint with texture but I can’t find any that I like. Also don’t want it to look like a garage or look stupid either.

Any idea what it was they put down? I’m looking for a diy type material.

Not sure if this is the right place but... When wet my covered concrete patio is slicker than a greased pig. It’s smooth concrete. I’ve done the half splits several times just walking. What have y’all put down or recommend putting on it to make it a nonslip surface but cleanable and not porous...

This valves are so close together. When one goes bad or starts leaking you’re gonna have to replace all of them it looks like.

I’m guessing there’s was something there and the plumber had to go around it. Or maybe he had a few too many beverages first. Who knows?

I would agree with making your pool bigger than you think. When we were looking at buying our house I thought that pool was way too big. But when you get a bunch of people in it it shrinks pretty fast. Also add a couple of sitting areas. Ours had 2 4ft seats and works great. As mentioned above...

Yeah he needs to level that. That wouldn’t be fun to trip and fall on or stub your toe. Especially bad for kids

Thanks I’ll get some references for the plaster. I just didn’t know if it was possible to repair it and get a couple more years out of it. Haven’t researched a replaster job yet but it just sounds expensive.

It’s always full. I use the TFP method I learned on this site so I never drain it. The only drawbacks to the TFP method is that your water is so clear that you see all the imperfections.
